SOUTHBANK meets Luxury Flava
The undercroft of the Southbank Centre has pretty much been the beating heart of London skateboarding for around 40+ years now. Southbank undercroft is the oldest recognised and still existing skateboarding space in the world. Unfortunately there is a love hate relationship between building owners and skateboarders, BMX riders and graffiti artists. Southbank Centre’s proposed redevelopment site contains no history and lacks the unique. The Long Live Southbank campaign, is dedicated to protecting the Undercroft in its current form (become a member here).
In January Long Live Southbank with hundreds of skateboarders made the 3 mile journey from the iconic Southbank skate spot to Lambeth Town Hall to hand-deliver a record-breaking 27,286 objections to the Southbank Centres controversial Festival Wing plans, in a bid to halt what has become the most unpopular planning application in UK history.
Luxury Flava – streetwear brand from Slovakia. And who is behind it? Jan Mecoch also called Johnny Perfekto, one of the most famous dancers in Slovakia, womanizer, showman, presenter and also a dance teacher. Dance, music and fashion are superclose and Johnny has been always known for his individual and edgy style that’s why he got the pseudonym “Perfecto”. Perfect in what he does the best – dancing. And then in 2005 he started to transform it into fashion. It’s now year 2014 and he has already established his own clothing brand..pieces easy to wear on a casual day or maybe to your dance classes?
Oh and my favourite piece from the new collection is a plain black snapback with a leather front (click here to see), putting it on my xmas wishlist :P.
